GUITAR & MUSIC
We believe that bringing the gift of music to students – and by extension to a student’s family – is a precious gift.  Our mission is to channel and nurture young musician’s gifts, talents and passion while cultivating their skills and stretching their abilities. Our music classes are focused, dynamic and fun!  Our instructors are studied musicians with a passion for music and for teaching kids!

Beginning Guitar
For grades 3rd-8th 
Students learn: basic right-hand rhythm patterns, notes on the first two strings, C, G & D chords, basic melodic repertoire and folk songs using open chords and strumming.


Rock Guitar
For grades 4th – 8th  
New and experienced students invited!  Get your axe out and get ready to GRIND IT!  Students rock out with riffs from Green Day, White Stripes, Led Zeppelin and more!  We study the open Em pentatonic scale, how to craft your own rippin’ solo or tricked out riff and how to improvise a solo!

Beatles Guitar
For grades 4th – 8th  
If you want to be the best, start with the best known rock songs and riffs.  Day Tripper, Happy Birthday, Lady Madonna and more are on tap in this ode to the Beatles.  Students learn renowned riffs and study the chord structure and melody for many of the Beatles best top hits.

METAL GUITAR
New metal riffs!  More Rock Guitar!  Learn Metallica, Weezer, Nirvana, Foo Fighters and more.  Students study pull-offs, hammer-ons, slides and bends and apply those skills to current and recent metal hits. If you’ve got an AXE TO GRIND, this is the class for you. 

Look for these guitar classes for 2010-2011

• Basic Blues – Study 12 bar blues, common riffs and learn how to craft a blues solo.
• Guitar Hero Axe Grinders – We study the best known songs from the popular “Guitar Hero” game series.
• Rippin’ Rock Solos – More rock n’ roll solos make sure your young musician is never at a loss to rock out loud and strong!

SONIC BLAST
A Rock n’ Roll Music Camp
For ages 10-15
Are you ready to PLUG IN and get your PULSE-POUNDING? Sonic Blast Campers will journey into the world of Rock n’ Roll.  They will explore the basics of their instrument (guitar, bass, vocals, drums/percussion or piano); expand their knowledge of rock n’ roll repertoire from Led Zeppelin to Green Day and others; and finally put together every aspect of their very own rock concert including writing & performing their own rock tune; creating a band name & marketing it.  Our instructors are professional musicians with a passion for teaching kids. There will be a rock concert the last day of camp.  Parents and friends are encouraged to attend and ROCK OUT!  This camp is sure to electrify your summer! You provide: Rock n’ Roll attitude and a ton of enthusiasm! Oh, yeah.  Don’t forget your guitar, bass guitar, vocals or other instrument!

Beginning Piano Group lessons
For 3rd- 6th grades
Get your fingers flying over the ivories in this fast-paced introduction to piano and the world of music.  Students will learn music theory, rhythmic & chord patterns, meter, and study a variety of repertoire.  We will be using 61-key piano keyboards in class. Parents are invited to attend our mini-recital the last day of class.

ROCK STAR PRODIGY
The Hit Songwriting, Recording and Podcasting Camp
For Ages 10-17
Transform yourself into an overnight sensation in this fast-paced introduction to songwriting and recording.  Students will polish these skills and then write, record and podcast their own song using ingenuity, virtuosity and grit. We use Apple’s Garage Band or a similar software application to record and create music using analog and midi interface as well as music loops.   Students leave with a cd of their song and we podcast them from our website.



TEEN IDOL ROCK CAMP
A prolific camp for young singers
For Ages 9-14
Dream big and deliver a show-stopping, heart-pounding performance sure to bring down the house!  We will study the vocal style, repertoire and stage presence of some of the world’s best-loved vocalists: Céline Dion, Kelly Clarkson, Whitney Houston and more.  There will be a concert on the last day of class.  Parents are invited to attend.  Sign up today to sing like the greats of tomorrow!
