Youth Enrichment League was co-founded by Chet & Lisa Gunhus to bring the highest quality enrichment programs and most dynamic instructors to school campuses. At Youth Enrichment League, we believe that every young person is endowed with special gifts. We see enrichment as a gateway for students to explore and nurture their individual talents.
Our programs are affordable, fee-based programs. Fees are based on teacher remuneration as well as cost of supplies and equipment.

We are proud members of the following organizations:
Minnesota Community Education Association
Minnesota Technology Education Association
United States Chess Federation

Feel free to contact us by phone or email with any questions or to schedule one of our engaging programs.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS
Our instructors come directly to your school site after the final bell to deliver unique programs and an engaging environment.  Programs are typically one hour in length and conducted once per week, on the same day each week in the same time frame, for six to twelve consecutive weeks.  For instance, Grandmasters of Chess, Tuesdays from 3:00-4:00 p.m.  Again, we pride ourselves on the ability to work with each school site to meet their specific needs and offer flexible options.

SUMMER CAMPS & ACTIVITIES
Hands-on, fast-paced, pulse-pounding, experiential activities… all summer long. We bring our camps right to your community. Youth Enrichment League summer camps offer students opportunities to stretch their abilities, challenge their skills and keep their minds sharp. We vary our camps every summer, so students can enroll each year and find something new. For a complete listing of our summer camp programs, please call or email us.

Youth Programmers- Our summer programs are flexible and fit into almost any schedule or format you prefer.  Call us to discuss options that work best for you.

EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAMS
Young learners love developing through hands-on, experiential activities. Our LEGO/Sports programs serve as a quality supplement to an inquisitive child’s day. Children learn the fundamentals of structures or machines then move to the basketball court to learn about teamwork and the basics of sport. The combination of active learning and active play serves to engage all early learners.

EVENING PROGRAMS
Fencing, chess, guitar and other programs can spark your community’s evening offerings. These programs can be flexible and may be offered to multiple skill levels. For instance, Fencing on Thursday evenings, for beginners from 6-7pm and Fencing for returning students from 7:10-8:10pm. This format works well for fencing, chess, guitar and other skill-based classes.

SUPER SATURDAY EVENTS
A great way to give mom and dad a Saturday morning off and get kids away from the cartoons. For instance, pick a Saturday and schedule our programs from 9am-1pm. Maybe LEGO, chess, basketball and floor hockey. Students get an opportunity to be in each program for one hour and leave with smiles and sometimes a little bit of sweat;-)

SCHOOL’S DAY OUT ACTIVITIES
Learn a great magic card trick, build a cool LEGO project, shoot some hoops or cross swords. We can give parents, schools and students options that will keep kiddos busy and their minds sharp during any off day, spring break or Holiday break. We can combine many of our programs into morning, afternoon or full day camps for your community.

EVENTS
YEL hosts many events, including: Chess Tournaments, Fencing Tournaments, Tae Kwon Do Belt Promotion Tests, Super Saturdays and more. See information for those programs on this website or call YEL for details. We are also developing a LEGO competition. Look for details in the future.
